Front-End Software Engineer
StumbleUpon is seeking a top-notch, self-directed software engineer with a desire to build innovative and exciting web interfaces. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented and passionate about performance and usability. If you are self-motivated and possess a Can-Do attitude, we want to talk with you!
Responsibilities:
* XHTML/CSS design and development
* JavaScript development
* PHP template design and development
* Work directly with UI, visual design, and engineering teams
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years web development experience
* Advanced XHTML/DOM experience
* Advanced CSS experience
* Extensive knowledge of cross-browser compatibility (XHTML/JS)
* Experience with JavaScript and libraries (jQuery)
* Experience in PHP driven template systems
* Experience with Linux/Unix systems
* Detail-oriented and self-directed
* Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
* Superb verbal and written communication skills
* Strong collaborative skills and flexibility in fulfilling multiple roles
Bonus Qualifications:
* Flash/Flex experience (comfort with ActionScript)
* Extensive PHP experience
* Fluency in Photoshop, Illustrator
* Experience with automated testing of UI/JavaScript
* Experience with A/B test implementations
